So when one of them is hurting, I automatically want to smash whoever or whatever hurt them, but sometimes really the best thing to do is to just be there. To listen and to provide a hug and a bed and a warm blanket that comes with promised (and needed) sleep-in’s. Maybe even a free breakfast! And to remind them that they’re loved more than anything and they’re stronger than they know and that I, along with their friends, will be here for them no questions asked. Day 54Inspiration: Dan and I originally met when we were 18 and probably because 18 year olds tend to be dickheads (yeah, I was) we didn’t really work out so well then. I don’t even really remember what happened, but I don’t think it really even matters anymore. We’re two completely different people now, and well, I guess we found each other again at just the right time. Day 51Inspiration: I know I’ve pushed this a few times already, but this Monday the 26th of March is Purple Day, raising awareness for Epilepsy. I know of two sufferers of Epilepsy now, after my Mum was diagnosed at Christmas time. It’s easy to turn a blind eye to fundraisers and feel good about the fact that you may have already sponsored Movember, or Shave For A Cure, but Purple Day gets a lot less press coverage even though it affects almost 90,000 Queenslanders. So although it IS just another fundraiser, it’s very close to my heart and I would really appreciate even just $1 if you can spare it (and a huge thank you to those who have already donated!) xYou can donate here. Day 50Inspiration: There’s probably only 4 people who will actually find this funny, and the rest will probably go “yeaaaaaaaaaah so I guess you just had to be there”. But basically, Andy was doing something involving pot plans with the bottom half of a soda bottle. It was empty and as he walked past Dan put it on his head, laughed, almost immediately took it back off again and walked out the door. I’m guessing because it was so light, Dan had no idea Andy had removed it and instead stood completely still trying to balance this non-existent thing on top of his head. After a few minutes he said “hey, can I move yet Andy?” and Libbie and I looked at each other, and back to Dan who had nothing on his head and laughed hysterically.
